About
About Me
I am a truly integrative psychologist specializing in psychotherapy and assessment with children, adolescents, and adults. My practice provides a unique integration of expertise in both cognitive-behavioral and insight-oriented methods. This includes learning to apply tangible skills to provide quick relief while also working to deepen understanding how our experiences and background show up in our present lives.
Education & Training
I received my graduate degrees (MA and Ph.D.) from Loma Linda University with an emphasis in clinical child and adolescent psychology, pediatric neuropsychology, trauma related disorders, and developmental psychology. I completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship accredited by the American Psychological Association specializing in trauma and neurodevelopment at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles/USC University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) as well. In addition to my private practice, I serve as a program manager at The Camden Center and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where I supervise doctoral students in psychological assessment.
Testing
Psychological assessment can be the first step in the process of understanding one’s areas of strength and difficulties to begin to set goals for change. Assessments can include questions related to Giftedness, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Learning or Cognitive Challenges, Neurodevelopmental Concerns, Learning and Memory, and/or Executive Functioning. My assessments will meet documentation requirements for accommodations for standardized testing or academic instruction as well. The feedback process includes providing specific diagnoses and recommendations tailored to address each specific area of need. My aim is to provide both the “what” and the “how” so that testing process ends with a clear idea of the next step/s. I enjoy connecting clients to the wide variety of services and supports available to them in the greater Los Angeles area and believe very strongly in the power of community (it truly does take a village).
Therapy
As a therapist, my style is an integration of practical and process. I believe strongly in the importance of relationships (why should we bare our soul to someone we hardly know) and so I focus initially on just getting to know clients, letting them get to know me, and deciding what it is they would like help with. I am lucky to have had formal training in a variety of modalities (CBT, DBT, TFCBT, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, PCIT) and have extensive experience working with children and adults with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, social skills deficits, interpersonal difficulties, neurodevelopment challenges, ADHD & executive functioning difficulties, and significant family dysfunction. Therapy with children and adolescents almost always involves family therapy or parent coaching/support as my ultimate goal is to fortify the family system so that the child can get well and stay well outside of therapy.
My work ultimately embodies a balance of learning tangible skills to improve well-being with enhancing insight/awareness of how, when, and sometimes why certain difficulties present in an individual’s daily life.

FEES
Testing
I charge a flat fee for assessments that varies depending on the type of assessment required. I will provide a brief consultation before testing begins to gather some information that will inform the type of assessment needed and the fee will be established before the first session. The evaluation fee includes the initial intake session, subsequent testing sessions, consultation with other providers (school, physician, therapist), a school observation (where indicated and appropriate), a feedback session, and a final written report. Additional meetings for follow-ups are billed separately. I do not work with insurance companies but would be happy to provide you with a receipt that you may submit for potential reimbursement. Payment is due in full at the first appointment unless otherwise agreed upon. I do also offer an income-based sliding scale to ensure that testing is affordable and accessible to all who many benefit from it.
Psychotherapy
Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes long but family sessions may extend to 90 minutes. Fees are discussed during the initial consultation and a sliding scale is available where financial need is demonstrated. There will be no charge for brief telephone calls or email exchanges. Phone sessions and teletherapy available within the state of California.
